Link-Up (Qld) welcomes Jada Davui to the team!

Jada Davui joins the Link-Up (Qld) team.

For many people beginning their journey with Link-Up (Qld), Jada Davui plays an important role in the early stages of the process.

As Intake and Data Administration Officer, Jada responds to enquiries and supports prospective clients through the intake process, helping gather the information our researchers need to begin family history tracing.

It’s a role she values deeply because those initial conversations can carry a great deal of meaning.

“I feel really lucky to be a safe place for people to share their individual stories. Seeing the volume of enquiries we receive daily really shows how many lives were and continue to be affected by the Stolen Generations.”

A Gunggari, Djabugay and Fijian woman, Jada grew up in Cairns before moving to Brisbane several years ago. She began her professional career as a Legal Assistant at a corporate law firm, where an opportunity to volunteer with the Refugee Legal Clinic helped shape what came next.

Inspired by that experience, Jada began studying law at Queensland University of Technology and is now in her second year. Alongside her studies, she was also looking for an opportunity to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a culturally safe environment.

“The work we do at Link-Up (Qld) makes a tangible impact and I feel privileged to be able to work in an organisation where we support Stolen Generations survivors and their descendants.”

Since joining Link-Up (Qld), one of Jada’s highlights has been the people she has met, from clients and colleagues to Board members and others across the wider Link-Up network.

“Everyone has been so welcoming and kind and I look forward to what is to come.”

For Jada, the role brings together community, connection and her passion for helping people navigate the important early steps in the Link-Up (Qld) process. We are pleased to welcome her to the team.
