Still Bringing Them Home: Breakfast with Stolen Generations Survivors
Participants of the Philanthropy Australia Conference are invited to join Stolen Generations survivors and the Link-Up (Qld) team for a special breakfast at our state headquarters in Brisbane on Friday 11 September 2026.
This intimate visit offers an opportunity to hear directly from survivors, learn more about the ongoing healing needs of Stolen Generations survivors and descendants, and gain an insight into the culturally safe, specialist work undertaken by Link-Up (Qld) across Queensland.
Event Itinerary – Friday 11 September 2026
7:00am | Depart Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
A dedicated bus will collect registered participants from the main entrance of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, at the corner of Merivale and Glenelg Streets, South Bank, for the short journey to Link-Up (Qld)’s state headquarters in Woolloongabba.
7:15am | Welcome & Breakfast
Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed by Link-Up (Qld) Chairperson Len Utz and a local Elder. Enjoy a bush tucker-inspired breakfast with tea and coffee while learning more about the “heart work” undertaken by our team as Queensland’s leading provider of specialist support for Stolen Generations survivors and descendants.
7:40am | Survivor Stories
Hear firsthand from Stolen Generations survivors as they share their experiences and reflections on family, identity, culture and their lifelong journeys towards healing and reconnection.
8:00am | Healing into the Future
Link-Up (Qld) CEO Patricia Thompson AM will discuss the ongoing importance of culturally safe support for Stolen Generations survivors, descendants and families, and Link-Up’s vision for a future where First Nations people can feel a strong sense of belonging, connection and pride in their heritage.
8:15am | Discussion and Networking
8:30am | Depart Link-Up (Qld)
The bus will return participants to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in time for the day’s conference field trip activities.
